I usually get low carb readings which says I should try to hit 45g carbs, 105g protein, 144g fat. So in the morning you take a reading and this sets your macros for the day. So I often tested 5, after a very low carb day or fasting. ![]() However a flaw is that when you are in ketosis, ketones also leave C02 as a residual. this is working for me now and helped me become clear of some autoimmune issues). I purchased the Lumen (got great deal on plan) to help bio hack my low carb lifestyle (no comments from the choir. It was originally created to aid athletes to better train and perform. On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 is burning only fat and 5 is burning all carbohydrates. When you are exhaling CO2 you are burning carbs and when there is little in your breath you are burning fat. The Lumen measures the CO2 or lack of it in your breath. Rather than bash a device as some who have little knowledge on, I thought I could give you the pros and cons based on my experience. However just like Reddit many love to tell you how your doing it wrong, but their administration is great at helping. If you do try, they recommend joining their Facebook group. I have seen many success stories but have seen many frustrated users. I am hoping to figure out how to use it as I add more carbs to my diet and what my threshold is.
